Namita was born on March 21, 1977, in Pune, Maharashtra, in a Gujarati family to Satish Mehta and Bhavana Mehta. Her family was already well-settled at that time as her father is a well-known businessman and the founder of Emcure Pharmaceuticals.
Emcure Pharmaceuticals is one of India’s richest healthcare companies, having a net revenue of ₹5,812 crore. It produces tablets, capsules, injectables, and other medicinal drugs and serves worldwide.
She also has a brother named Samit Mehta who’s the President of R & D of Emcure Pharmaceuticals.
Education
Namita completed high school and graduated with B.Com from Pune (Pune University in Commerce). After that, she opted for a Chartered Accountancy course from ICAI – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Soon, she realized that she has to move somewhere where she can find better opportunities. She applied for the MBA program from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in North Carolina, US.
