LIFE is time-consuming. Life eats up 24 hours, every single day.
Blogging is just blogging. Picture an activity involving creating content and building bonds and monetizing through multiple streams of income. Simple, but highly uncomfortable gig, at times.
Now the big question: will it take time to build a successful blogging career? Yes and no. Yes, time requires passage to become a successful blogger but no, time alone does not factor into the equation. Blogging requires you to:
- learn blogging from pros
- study blogging from pros
- put pro advice into action
- practice writing
- be patient
- be persistent
- be generous
Most bloggers who ask the title-question wish to know if blogging takes up a bunch of your time. Again, like 90% of blogging questions I see on Quora, this is the wrong question to ask, sapping your time, attention and energy. The user should have asked, “What do you need to do to blog successfully?”
That would be a smart query because at the end of the day, who cares what time blogging takes? Do you plan to be alive 5 years from now? If yes, you have all the time in the world to blog, save your full time job commit, for the next 5 years. If people become multi millionaires in 5 years, then, yes, you will have all the time in the world to blog successfully over the next 5 years of your life. But you need to know what you need to do and how you need to feel, to lay the foundation for a successful blogging career. Learning from pros, figuring out these factors, expect to spend 4 to 6 hours, to 10 hours or more, daily, generously creating, connecting and opening multiple income streams, to eventually become a highly successful blogger.
Blogging gives you what you give blogging. Think that one through for a moment. Blogging mirrors back to you your generosity, time and overall work put in to blogging.
In my eBook:
I explain what it takes to go from thinking, feeling and acting like an employee to thinking, feeling and acting like an entrepreneur. I hate to paint this user on Quora asking the question, with a broad brush, but no way does this sound like a seasoned entrepreneur asking the question, “Is blogging time-consuming?” Sounds like a lazy person to me and if honest, I sense an employee used to working for a paycheck wants to know if blogging will take up a ton of their time, to get a paycheck.
Blogging will require you to learn blogging from pros, to serve people generously for 4 to 10 to 12 hours daily, based on if you work a full time job or not, and you also need to steadily open multiple streams of income to prosper mightily. Just the way it is. But know these 4 or 10 hour days need to be worked for years before things really begin to pop with your blogging career. This is why you need to genuinely love blogging and your blogging niche. Make the work the reward and you will blog generously every single day of your life for many years. Which is exactly what it takes to be a top, pro blogger.
