Do You Still Cling to Amateur Blogging Strategies?

In order to go pro, you need to be like a blogging pro. Being a blogging pro includes doing the things pro bloggers do with generous, patient, persistent energies.

Part of being a pro – before becoming a pro – involves letting go amateur blogging strategies. For example; blogging on a free platform is indeed an amateur blogging strategy because nobody using free platforms with a free domain name goes pro. If someone did go pro, count this blogger as one in a million. Or, one in a billion. Consider this as being an anomaly, a total freak thing, because 99.9999% of bloggers who blog on free platforms remain amateurs forever. None of these guys or gals go pro because how can you impress and gain the trust of readers if you cannot spend $10 a month emitting a loud, clear, professional image? Impossible.

I read a question on Quora. A blogger wanted to know something about the Blogger platform. Every second the blogger spends on Blogger, blogging, is wasted time because free platform users hellbent on going pro remain amateur. Clinging to amateur strategies ensures you remain an amateur until you replace these tactics with pro blogging tactics. Buy your domain and hosting. Let go amateur hour, free platforms. Do as pros do. Well before you become a professional, you need to BE a professional by doing as pros do. Let go. Grow.

But be warned; letting go feels uncomfortable. Likely, your ego-fear tries to scare you into clinging to amateur strategies, for fear of the change-growth-success and yep, comfort zone exit, you will experience as an aspiring pro blogger who does as pro bloggers do. I recall trying to do everything through my own blog for years. Old blog, of course. All felt safe, secure and quite pleasant, as comfy as can be, as snug as a bug in a rug. But I failed horribly because amateurs try to do all through their blogs, and never do anything like guest posting or blog commenting, on other blogger’s blogs. I struggled. Slammed into big time problems. Eventually, I changed course by facing my fears of wasting time on other blogger’s blogs, by facing my fear of criticism and by facing my fear of failure. All fears scared me into NOT blogging and commenting on other blogs. Classic mistake.

I accelerated my success by facing, feeling and releasing these fears so I began genuine blog commenting and guest posting on other blogger’s blogs. But this was just a few steps to go from amateur to pro. I did this too:

How to Make Money Online without Selling Your Soul: 7 Tips

I began writing inspired eBooks and stopped at well over 100. Heck yeah, my more amateur hour mindset figured I’d plaster ads on my blog and count millions of dollars in profits. Fat chance. Classic amateur hour move. But real pros create their own products and services to distance themselves from the crowd. Genuine pros stand out by creating stuff under their name, like, say, 100 plus eBooks. I had to let go my fear of writing eBooks – by feeling it – to release this amateur-type mistake so I could become a more successful, pro blogger, by writing the eBooks.

Let go to grow. Nobody enjoys feeling fear because you and I would rather kiss concrete in a desert climate. We would prefer allowing our tongues to burn from the intense heat. But you and I need to face, feel and release the fears, to stop clinging to amateur mistakes and to begin being like a pro blogger…..well before you become a pro blogger.

I know you are up to it.
